Czech and Slovak specialists for their important contribution to development of the fields of mathematics and didactics of mathematics in the Czech Republic;
to eminent foreign specialists in the fields of mathematics and didactics of mathematics who have had a long term collaboration with the institutions in the Czech Republic.
The medal is awarded by decision of the Council of the CMS.
The aim of the prize is to support high-quality scientific results of undergraduate and graduate students and younger researchers in theoretical and applied mathematics and to promote them within the Czech mathematical community.
The Czech Mathematical Society Prize is being awarded once in four years to at most four research papers or collections of research papers in theoretical or applied mathematics which have been published or accepted for publishing in peer-reviewed journals or conference proceedings within the last four years preceding the application for the competition.
